Spanish Immersion for Kids in Recoleta, Through Stories and Imagination

Learning Spanish the Tiny Makers Way

When Lucy first arrived in Buenos Aires, she didn’t know a single word of Spanish. Her family had moved from England for her father’s work, and everything felt new: the language, the rhythm, the city’s sounds.

Then Lucy found Tiny Makers, our creative workshop in Recoleta, where children learn Spanish in a warm, playful, and imaginative way.

More Than a Language Class

Tiny Makers is not a traditional Spanish school. It’s a space where Pipi, artist and storyteller, helps children discover a new language through literature, art, and play.

Instead of memorizing vocabulary, we bring Spanish to life through stories. We read together, act out scenes, draw, and create our own worlds. Children learn the way they learned their first language —by living it.

Lucy’s Story: Learning Spanish Through Stories

When Lucy joined us, we started small: a story about colors, a song about rain, a puppet that whispered new words. Slowly, Spanish became part of her laughter and imagination.

She stayed with us for almost three years, surrounded by books, drawings, and plenty of hot chocolate. When her father’s job took the family to another country, Lucy didn’t say goodbye; she said hasta luego.

We continued our sessions online, keeping alive the connection that stories had built. For us, language learning is never just about grammar. It’s about belonging, curiosity, and connection.
